Oh dear, my deer!

They have arrived!
My deer have arrived.

I had a vision of what I wanted my coffee table vignette to look like and it required a pair of deer! (I am so obsessed with deer this year.)
Hubby and I looked everywhere and I do mean everywhere... Pier Imports, Target, Marshall's, Kohl's, K-Mart, Home Goods, Tuesday Morning (you get the picture) and can you believe we couldn't find any?
I resisted looking on-line because I thought that if I found them there I wouldn't get them before Christmas. But I gave in...I was desperate! Hee, hee, hee.
And I am so excited to say that I found what I was looking for and I did get them with plenty of time....Aren't they beautiful? Found them on Amazon.
They are absolutely perfect and they brought my vision to life exactly how I imaged.
Here are other elements of my vignette. I crafted the music sheet spheres you see in the little lantern a few days ago along with the Buon Natale tag.
I also put together this petite hydrangea arrangement in a vintage milk glass vase I picked up at a thrift store. And I covered the books underneath it with butcher paper and tied them up with some pretty lace. So happy how it all turned out. What do you think?

Happy New Week Everyone!

Mini Christmas Village

Ever since I can remember I have always wanted a mini Christmas village. I'm not sure why I've never created one before, until this year.
The Dollar Tree store had all the little components I needed to create my village.
Sorry for the pictures. For some reason my little Christmas Village vignette didn't want to photograph well. Anyway, the beautiful huge apothecary from Costco where I chose to create my little village was a prize my hubby won at his work's Annual Holiday Party a few weeks back. Yay for me! Don't know if I should be revealing this but when he won it it was filled with delicious is all gone now. Well I had to empty the jar to create my village, didn't I? Hee, hee, hee. They were soooo yummy.
In this smaller "apothecary" (It's really a brandy glass with a lid that I picked up at a thrift store as is. Hee, hee, hee.) you'll find a sweet mini Nativity scene from Hallmark I got a few years back. The wisemen are standing in the back.
Here's a closer look.
And in this other one from Princess House I place the shepards in the field. I know, I know, it didn't snow there but, you can't have Christmas without a little snow, right? ;-)
One of this year's obsessions...tiny bottle brush Christmas trees. Love them :-) The bigger ones below I got a couple of years ago at Marshall's.
So there you have it...Our Mini Christmas Village. What do you think?

New Look

Hi Everyone!

Today I wanted to share with you a petite Noel vignette I have on one of my living room side tables...Which by the way, I have featured on my blog's new Christmas header...In case you didn't noticed :-)

As I was working on the header I realized that I hadn't done anything new with my blog in a very long while and it was due for a change....No, not the type of change like I did with this header (same header with different pictures), but a totally brand new look.
So I've been busy at work on a new look and I'm very excited to announce that as of the first of January A Petite Cottage will be sporting a brand  new look.
New Year, New Look....Yay! I can't wait for you to see it.
Hope you enjoyed my petite Noel vignette.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.
